Musica de Filia ("Daughters of Music") is a unique, all female choir, founded in 1997 and directed by Jaye Churchill.
Dear Singers and Parents of Singers,
I’m writing to you to let you know the status of Musica de Filia. First, I want you to know that I missed all of you so much this past semester. However, I’m still struggling with health issues, and therefore have had to make some pretty big changes for the future. So, I’m sorry to say that I will be closing down the Musica studio at 550 Forest Avenue, and the current choirs will not resume in the fall. As you can imagine, this was a most difficult decision.
I started Musica de Filia in 1997, and during these 18+ years, Musica has given me so, so much. I have made such wonderful, long-lasting friendships with both singers and their families. The music, concerts, camps, tours and rehearsals that we’ve shared together will be forever etched in my heart and soul.
I would like to think that perhaps some day I will be able to bring Musica de Filia back to it’s full fruition. In the future, there may be opportunities for singers to audition for choral projects, and I will continue to communicate these opportunities as they arise. My goal for future projects will include singers of all ages, so please keep your eyes and ears open for news!
I want to thank you all for your generous support through this difficult time. It has meant the world to me.
Until then- all my love!
