Musica de Filia is available to sing for a variety of community, private and corporate events. Please see our Selected Performances page to see the range of bookings that Musica de Filia has accepted in the past. Our artistic director, Jaye Churchill, is actively seeking performance opportunities for Musica de Filia.
Our five choirs vary in size from 25-100 girls. Girls/Women in each choir have had extensive training in choral performance, and have significant experience performing at high-profile events for important audiences. For example, in December 2001 and November 2004, our Concert and Chamber Choirs performed in sold-out shows with Judy Collins at Merrill Auditorium in Portland. In August 2004, our Chamber Choir sang the national anthem for 36,000 fans at Fenway Park in Boston. On October 5, 2002, our choirs shared the stage with Laura Bush, First Lady of the United States, at the Portland Museum of Art’s Grand Opening of the McClellan House and L.D.M. Sweat Gallery.
Please note that Musica de Filia’s repertoire is performance-oriented, and is designed to fully engage the audience’s attention. It is less suited to a background- music type of scenario. Our repertoire includes the Star Spangled Banner, as well as classical, Broadway, traditional, sacred and multi-cultural literature.
The choir operates on a fall and spring semester cycle. Bookings toward the middle and the end of the semester are preferred, but others will be considered as well. We would, however, prefer to have these bookings on our calendar at the beginning of each semester, if possible, so please call Ms. Churchill to discuss your request at your very earliest convenience!
Jaye Churchill will need the following information from your organization at the time of booking.
