The Churchill Family Scholarship Fund underwrites an annual scholarship for a Maine highschool senior girl or boy pursuing a college degree in vocal music education or performance. The scholarship is awarded based on the results of a vocal music competition held in the spring.
Created in 2004 in memory of music educators Luther and Priscilla Churchill, the fund is supported through private and corporate donations and special events. The fund presented its first scholarship in the spring of 2006. Members of the Musica de Filia choirs for girls and women originated the fund.
The 2012 competition will take place on Saturday, April 7th at 10am at the Musica de Filia studio at 550 Forest Avenue. The scholarship will be $1000.
